22 July, Last day at UPC
It has been an amazing week!
At the end of the course my friend Arnau and I, recived a letter from the UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalaunya) giving us the opportunity to participate in a summer activity, in Barcelona for a week. Every day of this past week we went to Barcelona with the bus, and there we took the subway to the UPC. There we spent all the day learning and programing, and at the afternoon we took the subway and the bus again to go back to Banyoles. A part of programing they showed us a supercomputer and we assist to a very interesting talk.
We have been staying in l’Escala for some days, and we decided to spend the morning going with kayak. We went to Cala Mongó, more specific in to “Les Tres Coves” and then we come back. We spend 3 hours, but when we where going back we found a place to swim and we stayed there resting and relaxing. The views were amazing, on one side the sea and the horizon and the other the rocks. It was a cool experience and we will probably do it again.
5 August, Board Games
Every summer, because we have more free time, we(my family and I)spend hours and hours playing card and board games. And this summer isn’t different than the others, and in the first holidays week we bought a simple card game and a board game more difficult, maybe, the most difficult one we ever had. To finish a “RuneBound”, the board game we bought, we spent 4 hours minimum, and we only play with 2 players, imagine with four. Of course this is not the only game we’ve played, we have played dozens of times at “Bang”, “Caracassone”, “Los Colonos de Catan”, “El Hobbit” and so others. It’s just amazing having a good time with your family.
10 August, Riding to Roses
We have stayed in l’Escala for two weeks aprox. and we did lots of things: we went in Kayak, we played games and we went with bicycle around l’Escala. And my father and I decided to go from l’Escala to Roses with bicycle, but no for the asphalt road, for little paths wichs made more . We knew some paths and with a map we get up earlier and we spend all the morning raiding. We almost made it, but we had to hurry up to come back on time for lunch. A part of that, it was a windy day, and going to Roses(not going back to l’Escala) was very difficult.
12 August, Before Portaventura
We are still here in l’Escala the next week we will be in PortAventura to have some fun on the rollercoasters, and the different rides. Rollercoasters aren’t the most exiting things for me, but the shows and the atmosphere in Portaventura, with the different ”Worlds”, are awesome. A part of that the water attractions are so useful for when it’s really hot, and I think that we will have a great time there. But there is a surprise to, we will stay at a hotel of PortAventura for 1 or 2 nights and my sister and I we don’t know which. We will see…24 August, “Afternoon Routines”
This summer has been very very hot, and at the afternoon staying at home it's a not very pleasant task. When we come back from PortAventura we found a solution. Almost every afternoon we go to my grandparents’ house, I set the badminton court and we play until we don't have more energy. Then we go to swim at the swimming pool. Sometimes we play basketball to, but badminton is a nice sport to play outside and it seems boring, but if you have a good opponent and you try to win it’s really fun.
22 August, Finally the robot

I have been using “Lego Mindstorms EV3” for 3 years, a product of Lego that consist of different pieces, motors, and sensor, that you can program and build different robots. This summer I had the idea to do a robot with Lego Mindstorms that can catch pieces and putt them to another place. When I came back from PortAventura, I started this “project”, and it ended quite well. It was able to move some pieces, not exactly how I wanted to, but still fine. In that photo you can see how it looks, it has to gear racks to go up and down, and left and right.
I waited until now to write the last post to this Summer Diary because every year we “end” the summer when we do ”la Verema”. We collect all the grapes and we prepare them to become wine doing the fermentation. It doesn't seem so, but there is a lot of work before collecting the grapes you have to wait until the sugar degree of the grapes(it exist), it’s Ok, then find a day that there is enough family members arround to do all the job in one day, collect them and put them in a deposit, and some days later other things that we have to do too. We had to do all of that 2 times in a weekend, just exhausting.
